Literally translated it means 'vegetable cake'. Usually is filled with sengkuang and abit of carrots and dried shrimps. On certain occassions you can find it with kuchai fillings instead. (apologies - at this point of time the English names for these vege just slipped mymind)And these 5 miserable pieces don't come cheap. I used to remember these were sold at RM0.50 each....and slowly it went to maybe RM0.80. But I guess at a shopping centre food court, these had to be more...but the moment i saw it, I just couldn't resist. I had to buy it for tea-time :) (cos I already bought my lunch)
It's been sometime since I ate this. It's of Hokkien origin, hence it's not so commonly available in KL area. If it is, the halal version is quite hard to find too.
I hope it doesn't dissapoint me later.....

yah, nowadays so many false claims kan?
we assume food court halal but looks like many cases some are not really....it's probably pork-free only....
kena gak kuar $$ bnyk2 to eat at fancy places if really want to...
yummy.....i miss this kind of malaysian food....especially when most msian restaurant here are not halal. the halal ones would mostly be malay food only (most stuff i know on how to cook oledi).
recently i ate something similar to chai kueh, its sort of like korean gyoza (vege+seafood filling). nice chewy texture.....it cured some of the homesick feeling..
